So recently I watched ‘Into the Wild’ for the first time and it quickly became one of my all time favourite movies. When kids finish school or uni to go travelling we’re all looking for the same thing. To get away from the life we know and visit new places, try new things, meet new people and to be alone with just ourselves to rely on. This movie is based on a true story about a troubled lad who tells his parents he’s going to college but really gives away his college fund to charity, packs a bag, and hits the road. He ditches his car, burns his money, and just relies on his feet and his common sense to get him around America. His adventures and the people he meets are pretty inspiring and by the time he reaches Alaska, his ultimate aim, you’re really attached to his character. It’s only here that he realises happiness is only real when you share it with others. The film is exciting, happy, funny, inspiring and really sad. Accompanying the film is a brilliant soundtrack mostly by Eddie Vedder. It works fantastically. The album is well worth a download and well worth a watch of the film if you haven’t seen it before. Pure class.
